A home made chicken fry (south indian style) in 3 simple steps.

Cooking Time: 10 to 15 Minutes
Servings: 4



Ingredients:
Chicken - 500 grams
Onion, chopped - 2 No.
Tomato puree - 2 Tablespoons
Oil - 2 Tablespoons
Ginger & Garlic Paste - 1 Teaspoon
Red Chilli Powder - 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder  - 1/2 Teaspoon
Coriander Powder - 2 Teaspoons
Fresh Coriander leaves chopped - 1 tablespoon
Green Chillies - 2
Coconut, scrapped - 2 Tablespoons (optional)
Salt to taste
Water (required amount)

Method:
Step 1 - Heat oil in a kadai (wok) and add chopped onions. When color changes to brown, add add ginger & garlic paste. Saute for a minute.
Step 2 - Add the following in the same sequence, saute for 30 minutes in between and stir occassionally. Turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, chicken pieces, tomato puree, scrapped coconut (only if required), required water and salt to taste. Cover and cook for eight to ten minutes.
Step 3 - Garnish with green chilli and coriander leaves and serve hot.
